We are excited to announce that two new Human Rights Committees are joining Border Action’s network of organized immigrant families in southern Arizona. “Los Angeles de la Frontera” in Nogales and “La Familia” in Sierra Vista have worked hard to meet all the requirements for committees, including intensive studying of the Bill of Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Declaration of Monterrey as well as Border Action’s vision, mission, goals and plans. Human Rights Committees become safe places where men, women and youth –who have been labeled as “less than human” --can come together to reclaim their humanity and be part of a movement for human rights and immigration reform.
Congratulations Nogales! – Formed Thursday, August 6, 2009
Congratulations Sierra Vista! – Ceremony will be Monday, August 31st at 6:00pm. Contact us for directions if you’d like to join us.
