About Us

BAN-LOGOOrganizational Overview

Border Action Network was formed in 1999 and is a human rights community organization based in immigrant and border communities throughout Arizona. We are unique in that we not only build the capacity of on-the-ground organizing and leadership within heavily militarized, criminalized, and marginalized immigrant and border communities but also carry the local lessons from the border directly to policymakers at a state and national level. Our ability, through organizing, research, communications and advocacy, enables us to expose the ineffectiveness, high cost, and inhumanity of border and immigration enforcement, and our dedication to policy change enables us to put concrete, winnable solutions on policy makers’ table.
